Omix is a macOS app that helps you stay in deep focus by playing music that adapts to how you work. It uses real-time productivity signals like typing speed, mouse activity, and which apps you are using to shape the music you hear. The experience is inspired by dynamic soundtracks in video games, where the music shifts depending on the intensity of the moment. With Omix, your soundtrack changes as your focus changes, creating a subtle feedback loop that helps you stay in the zone. It feels like having a personal composer scoring your workday, making it easier to get into flow and stay there.

Sign InI was listening to music while working (certain kinds of instrumental tracks help me focus better) and the thought struck me that it would be cool if when I got into the zone the music did too. That idea led to Omix. I dove into research on adaptive audio in video games (think boss battle vs overworld) and studies on how subtle sound changes can improve focus. Then I built a prototype that connects your work signals to your soundtrack. Omix is a macOS app that plays music designed for deep focus. It listens to your productivity signals, things like typing, clicking, and app usage, and uses those to shape your music in real time. It feels like a composer is scoring your workday, and it’s genuinely cool when the music notices you’re in flow.
